Anna couldn't calm down in the stable, she couldn't calm down in her room. She ran from left to right, still infuriated, shocked and so disappointed that it was almost hurting physically. There wasn't much of a choice for her to do anything rational in this state of mind. Her room seemed too small, the walls too close as she started hurrying from cabinet to locker and back stuffing all those things she had, all her life at DLS - into bags. Tears were coming silently, but she was even to proud for that and tried to blink them away angrily. Then she ripped all stuff out of the bags again, that she had no use for any longer. Dressage outfits, white boots, long dresses... she wouldn't need them. Anna folded them ridiculously clean and put them back where they had been before. Looking at the clock almost every 10 minutes she sat down and wrote a letter to Charly. "I'm not sorry" "I can't" "I thought..." "I resign."
Anna sobbed uncontrollable as she wrote Charly's name on the envelope right the very moment when the clock in the hall stroke that it was time to leave. She took the bags and without even turning around to look at the rooms that were her home for the past years she walked away. She scraped the ice away from the windows of her car... Taken away all her show dresses there was not much left to put into the trunk, but the car would fill with Dostojewskis tack and all the stuff she needed for him.

Anna sighed as she walked into the quiet stable and started cleaning Dostos stall. Her horse and Amadeus, who was standing in the box next to them, seemed confused that their daily routine was violated. Dosto seemed curious, while Amadeus catched more and more of Annas mood and started circling his box nervously with flaring nostrils. Anna looked at him and she sobbed again. She was finally done with the stall and it was so clean and empty as if Dosto had never existed. Amadeus looked through the bars and whinnied, but she couldn't stand a big "goodbye scene". She smiled and tried to collect herself to tell him her usual See you later and walked off with Dosto. As she left the stable building she couldn't believe what she saw...

Someone had hooked up one of the small trailers to her Volvo. No sign of a person was to be seen, but she could easily imagine who had given her this hint and had blewn away every bit of doubt. Dosto was loaded into the trailer and just minutes later they left through the big iron gate, that had seperated her dreamplace Dark Lake Stables from the ugly and cold real world.

Anna headed west and soon the road climbed up a small hillside touched by the first rays of sun. She slowed down and looked out of the left window. Over the Dark lake and the forrest, the fields and pastures that seemed so far away now. Anna stopped the car. She stood outside staring down at Dark Lake Stables for several minutes. What lay down there behind the lake had been her world and all that mattered. She thought she would be someone special to the Boss - there were no tears left for him anymore. Anna wasn't sure why she had believed it. It seemed silly now, because the Boss was unable to like someone deeply enough, wasn't he? She had never erred that much... It was the sound of Dosto stamping in his trailer, that woke her up. She was reluctant to leave. Her mom and stepfather would surely welcome her. Lost daughter coming home... Anna turned back to her car. She knew nothing about the life that was before her . It seemed almost as cold as the life that she gave up finally... the very moment, when she turned the key to start the engine.
