A really quick picture of the mysterious mate and father of the unborn colt of Solitary. His name is Alpha Orionis, though he is mostly called Beetlegeuse (hm... sounds familiar?... could it be.. YES he was foundation stud of DLS in 1787 :-D .)

If it comes to his character he is very unsteady. He can be prince charming if he likes you (Solitary got to know this rare side of him) or the devil himself. He is the son of ... Dreamdance and Death himself. Immortal and lord of any being that haunts around somewhere^^ lord of the ghosts. I like to think of him as an equine cheshire cat. He knows he is mad... most of the time

Solitary reached her favourite place of the territory. The crater lake was her refuge, she laid down under one of the old oak trees and felt alone again for the first time since she joined her beautiful new herd. She couldn't believe what Hexe had told her... That couldn't be true.
She started shivering, one disadvantage of living near the sea was the wet and cold weather, but exhausted as she was she fell asleep soon.

She walked alone across an empty plateau of accurately carved marble. The floor glimmered softly in the clear, warm summer night. She looked at the horizon and a big nebula shined there in the distance. Suddenly, out of shadows and night two glowing white eyes appeared, a bald horse face followed, then a striped mane... Tara neighed happily. Out of the night stepped Beetlegeuse. He looked at her with his shining eyes.
"Tara, my love, what's the matter? You called me? That new herd... don't they like you? Did they expell you again?"
"They didn't. I just felt alone." Tara snuggled up to him. He was beautiful and warm
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Everything, darling."
"Did you know, we're going to have a foal?"
"Yes I did. It's normal you haven't noticed. It was a hard time for you after we seperated, but you made it."
"Hexe told me it's not going to be a normal foal. She told me you are dangerous and mad and that your foals will be the same... She said... you're otherworldy..."
"Hexe... I remember, we had some great rounds, fighting against each other about some lost souls... She is angry, cause I won." Betlegeuse smiled gently at Tara. "Don't worry about her."
Tara was encouraged by his smile, though she knew now that Hexe was right. He was not a normal stallion, but still he was fine and friendy and not dangerous at all. They would have a great colt. With shining blue eyes like his father. She decided to talk to Loan and Ma'am next morning, when she suddenly realised that Betlegeuse was disappearing.
"Sorry, love, I have some business to do. And you have to stand up." Tara looked confused, she was standing!
"Stand up darling, or you will catch a bad cold..." His voice was fading.
Solitary remembered that she laid down under an oak tree before she got here.
I was only dreaming, she thought dissapointed, turned around and woke up.
Betlegeuse's smile changed from gentle to lunatic. Then he was gone.
